Creamy Bottle Gourd ( Surakai ) Sabji




Ingredients:

  • Bottle gourd - 2 cups ( finely chopped )
  • Onion - 1 no ( chopped )
  • Green chilli - 1 no ( make a slit )
  • Tomato puree - 4 tspn
  • Fresh cream - 1 to 2 tblspn
  • Cloves - 2 no
  • Cinnamon stick - 1 no ( 1 inch )
  • Jeera - 1/2 tspn
  • Ginger garlic paste - 1 tspn
  • Turmeric powder - 2 pinch
  • Chilli powder - 3/4 to 1 tspn
  • Kasuri methi - 1/2 tspn
  • Coriander leaves - few nos
  • Salt - to taste
  • Oil - 3 tspn

Method:

  • Peel the skin of bottle gourd take out the seeds and finely chop it
  • Heat oil in a kadai, add cloves, cinnamon, onion, green chilli,kasuri methi and saute for a minute
  • Then add ginger garlic paste after a minute add tomato puree, turmeric pwd, chilli pwd and mix it
  • After a minute add chopped bottle gourd pour some water for the bottle gourd to cook 
  • Don't add more water add inbetween if necessary, add salt and saute
  • When all the water absorbs add coriander leaves, fresh cream mix and switch off the stove 
  • Serve this tasty creamy bottle gourd sabji for roti, puri , dosai
