Raw Banana (Plantain) Pakoda


Ingredients:

  • Raw banana - 1 no (large size)
  • Besan flour - 1/2 tblspn
  • Onion chopped - 1 tblspn
  • Sombu - 1/2 tspn
  • Chilli powder - 1 tspn
  • Green chilli - 1tspn (optional or you can add extra chilli powder)
  • Turmeric powder - a pinch
  • Coriander and curry leaves - few nos
  • Salt - to taste
  • Oil - for deep fry

Method:

  • Presssure cook the raw banana for 3 whistle, then cool and peel off the skin
  • In a bowl take cooked raw banana and smash it, then add the all ingredients except oil
  • Mix all the ingredients well, if want you can add cooking soda in this stage
  • Heat oil in a kadai, take small amount of dough make small ball or any shape and deep fry in oil
  • When it turns golden brown on both sides take it out and keep in tissue paper
  • Serve the tasty raw banana pakoda hot with any ketchup or chutney

Note:

  • While mixing the ingredients don't add water the moisture in the raw banana is enough
  • Don't add the besan flour as a whole add little by little to get the pakoda dough consistency
