Aval ( Poha ) Idli



Ingredients:

  • Idli rice - 2 cups
  • Poha - 1/2 cup
  • Urad dal - 1/2 cup
  • Oats - 1/2 cup
  • Methi seeds - 1/4 tspn
  • Salt - to taste

Method:

  • Soak idli rice along with methi seeds and urad dal separately for 3 - 4 hrs 
  • Soak poha and oats separately 1/2 to 3/4 hr before grinding  the dal
  • After grinding the dal , grind poha,oats and idli rice . you can grind it in mixie 
  • After grinding the ingredients add salt mix it well and keep overnight for fermentation
  • Next day make idli by steaming the idli batter in idli maker
  • Serve the healthy poha idli along with any chutneys and idli chilli powder
Note:
  • You can also make dosai by spreading the batter in hot tawa with a ladle and apply oil 
  • When it turns  golden brown on both side take it out and serve
