Ingredients:
- Snake gourd - 1 no
- Besan flour - 3 1/2 to 4 tblspn
- Rice flour - 1 tblspn
- Corn flour - 1 tblpsn
- Turmeric powder -1/4 tspn or even less
- Chilli powder - 3/4 tspn
- White ellu (til seeds) - 1/2 tspn
- Salt - to taste
- Lime juice - few drops
- Curry leaves - few nos
- Asafoetida powder - a pinch
- Oil - for deep fry
Method:
- Cut the pudalangai in to two halves remove the inner seeds and cut in to thin 1 or 2 inch stick, add salt and keep it aside for 15 mins
- Then squeeze out the water from the pudalangai by pressing with hands
- In a bowl take all the ingredients except oil and pudalangai and mix well, then add pudalangai
- Mix them well check for salt , add lime juice springle little water at a time and stir so that pudalangai pieces are covered with dough
- Heat oil in a pan take handful of mixture and deep fry it in oil and repeat the procedure
- Serve the tasty pudalangai varuval with rice or can take it as a snack
