Ingredients:
- Yam - 300 gms
- Tamarind - small gooseberry size
- Turmeric powder - 1 tspn
- Onion - 1 big
- Oil - for deep fry
To Grind:
- Coconut - 1 tblspn
- Dhania Powder - 1 tspn
- Chilli Powder - 1 tspn
- Pepper(crushed) - 1 tspn
- Jeera - 1/2 tspn
- Saunf - 1 tspn
- Garlic - 6 pods
Grind all the ingredients in to paste if want add little water.
For Seasonigs:
- Cinnamon stick - 1
- Cloves - 2 nos
- cardamon - 1 no
- Curry leaves - few nos
Method:
- First peel the yam skin then wash it thoroughly with water, cut it in square shape
- Heat Water in a kadai add tamarind, salt and turmeric powder, when it starts to boil add the yam and cook
- When the yam becomes tender switch off the stove and filter the yam from water
- After it cools deep fry them in oil and keep it aside
- Heat 3 tblspn of oil in a kadai, then add cinnamon, clove, cardamon after it burst out add onion and curry leaves
- saute it till onion turns golden brown, then add the grinded paste and saute it nicely for few mins
- Then add the fried yam mix them well till all the yam coated well with the masala
- Add little salt and keep it in low flame for 5 to 10 mins, switch off the stove
- Serve the hot yam chops with curry leaves garnish
