Ingredients:
- Palak - 1 bunch
- Potato - 1 big
- Onion - 1/2 no
- Tomato - 1/4 no
- Jeera - 1/2 tspn
- Jeera powder - 1tspn
- Chilli powder - 1 tspn
- Garam masala - 1/2 tspn
- Ginger garlic paste - 1 tspn
- Salt - to taste
- Oil - 1 tblspn
Method:
- Wash and blanch the palak leaves in boiling water for 3 to 5 minutes then cool and grind it to paste
- Chop the onion and tomato , potato ( little bit big in size ) nicely and keep aside
- Heat 2 tspn of oil in a kadai, add potato and saute it till it turns golden brown on both sides and keep aside
- Heat 3 tspn of oil in a kadai, add jeera after it pops out add onion, tomato saute for a minute then add ginger garlic paste after the raw smell goes add palak puree
- Then add chilli powder,jeera powder, garam masala,salt and mix them well ( add little water if the gravy is too thick )
- Keep in low flame for 1 to 2 minutes then add the cooked potato and mix it well, check for the salt
- After a minute or two switch off the stove ad serve the tasty Aloo palak as side dish for chappathi or pulav, fried rice etc.....
Note:
- I used only little amount of oil if you want you can use butter or more oil also
- Adding fresh cream after switch off the stove gives you extra taste
