Khakra Rolls



Ingredients:

  • Maida flour - 1 cup
  • Besan flour - 4 tblspn
  • Coconut gratings - 3 tblspn
  • White til seeds ( ellu ) - 1 1/2 tspn
  • Chilli powder - 1/2 to 1 tspn ( depends on spicyness )
  • Salt - to taste
  • Oil - for deep frying

Method:

  • Take maida in a bowl , add salt , 1 to 2 tspn oil, water and bring to chappathi dough consistency
  • Keep this aside for 1/2 to 1 hr by closing with a lid or clean cloth
  • Heat oil in a kadai for deep frying
  • Mix besan flour, coconut gratings, til seeds, chilli powder, salt in bowl nicely and add 2 tspn of hot oil and springle little water now the stuffing is ready ( see the pic below )




  • Now take small amount of maida dough and make cirlce, place the stuffing mixture as shown in the picture




  • Roll it tightly and seal the corners by pressing with the fingers moisture in the dough is enough for sealing



  • Now cut the roll with a knife in to pieces  ( or you can deep fry as such and cut it later )




  • Deep fry the pieces ( the stuffing will not come out while deep frying ) till turns golden brown on both sides 




  • Serve the spicy khakra rolls along with tea in the evening
Note:
  • If you want you can add 2 tblspn of besan and  2 tblspn of peanut powder ( take roasted peanut and powdered in mixie )
