Yummy Sooji Kesari



Ingredients:

  • Sooji  - 1 cup (my cup measures 120ml)
  • Sugar - 1 cup and 2 tspn (if want more sweet add 1 and 1/4 cup
  • Cardamon powder - a pinch to 1/4 tspn
  • Yellow or red food colour - a pinch
  • Ghee roasted cashew - 1 tblpsn
  • Ghee roasted kismiss - 1 tspn
  • Ghee - 2 to 3 tblspn
  • Water - 2 cups

Method:

  • Heat 1 tspn ghee and roast the cashew and kismiss and keep it aside
  • To the same kadai add 1 tspn ghee and roast the sooji (till smell comes out )
  • Then boil 2 cups of water and add roasted sooji care should be taken to see clumps are not formed
  • After sooji cooked add sugar when sugar completely melts , add 1 tblpsn ghee and food colour
  • when the mixture becomes thick add more ghee , cardamon powder and fried cashew and kismiss
  • When kesari comes without touching the sides of the vessel switch off the stove
  • Serve the yummy sooji kesari hot with little ghee on top.
