Quick Pepper Rasam



Ingredients:

  • Tamarind - 1 small lemon size
  • Pepper crushed - 3 tspn or even more (depends on spicyness)
  • Salt - to taste
  • Tomato chopped - 1 tspn
  • Turmeric powder - 1/4 tspn
  • Ghee - 1 tspn
  • Mustard - 1/4 tspn
  • Curry leaves - few nos

Method:

  • Soak the tamarind in water for 15 to 20 mins ( if urgent soak in warm water for 5 mins)
  • Squeeze it and take thick tamarind juice
  • Add required quantity of water ( some like sour taste so depends on ur taste ) salt, turmeric powder, tomato and allow it to boil till raw smell goes then add crushed pepper
  • Switch off the stove , heat ghee in a kadai, add mustard when it pops out add curry leaves and pour on to the rasam
  • Serve the quick pepper rasam hot with plain rice
