Ingredients:
- Tamarind - 1 small lemon size
- Pepper crushed - 3 tspn or even more (depends on spicyness)
- Salt - to taste
- Tomato chopped - 1 tspn
- Turmeric powder - 1/4 tspn
- Ghee - 1 tspn
- Mustard - 1/4 tspn
- Curry leaves - few nos
Method:
- Soak the tamarind in water for 15 to 20 mins ( if urgent soak in warm water for 5 mins)
- Squeeze it and take thick tamarind juice
- Add required quantity of water ( some like sour taste so depends on ur taste ) salt, turmeric powder, tomato and allow it to boil till raw smell goes then add crushed pepper
- Switch off the stove , heat ghee in a kadai, add mustard when it pops out add curry leaves and pour on to the rasam
- Serve the quick pepper rasam hot with plain rice
