Ingredients:
- Raw Rice - 1-1/2 Cup
- Moong Dhall - 3/4 Cup
- Pepper - 2- 1/2 tspn
- Ghee Fried Cashew - 2 tspn ( according to your need )
- Oil - 5 tspn
- Ghee - 1 to 2 tblspn
- Salt - 1 to 2 tspn ( according to taste )
- Water - 8 Cups
For Seasoning:
- Mustard - 1 tspn
- Jeera - 1-1/2 tspn
- Chopped Ginger - 1 tspn
- Asafoetida Powder - 1/4 tspn
- Curry Leaves - few nos
Method:
- To a pressure cooker add raw rice, moong dhall, 2 tspn oil, salt and 8 cups of water and allow 8 to 10 whistle for rice to cook nicely
- Ghee fry the pepper and crushed it
- When steam gone open the pressure cooker and add crushed pepper
- Heat 3 tspn oil , ghee and add all seasoning along with cashew and mix them well
- Serve the tasty Ven Pongal hot with little ghee on top
