Mushroom Masala



Ingredients:

  • Mushroom - 200gms
  • Onion - 1 big and 1 medium size
  • Tomato - 1 no ( big)
  • Dry red chilli - 2 no (small)
  • Cloves - 3 to 4 no
  • Cinnamon stick - 2 inch ( 1 no)
  • Star anise - 1/2 no
  • Bay leaf - 1 no
  • Fennel seed - 1/2 tspn
  • Ginger garlic paste - 1 tspn
  • Turmeric powder - a pinch
  • Chilli powder - 1 tspn
  • Garam masala powder - 1 tspn
  • Salt - to taste
  • Oil - 4 tspn plus 1 tspn

Method:

  • Wash thoroughly and cut the mushroom in to four halves and keep aside
  • Heat 1 tspn of oil, add cloves,cinnamon,bay leaf,star anise,red chilli,fennel seeds when the fennels seeds pops out add the chopped onion ( 1 no) and saute , after it turns pink add chopped tomato and saute till it becomes tender
  • After tomato becomes smashed switch off the stove and cool down , then grind it in to fine paste
  • Heat 4 tspn of oil in a kadai, add chopped onion, saute after 2 mins add ginger garlic paste
  • When the raw smell of the ginger garlic paste goes add the grinded paste and add water to it
  • Keep in low flame for 2 mins then add turmeric powder, chilli powder and garam masala powder, salt and mix it well
  • When the oil seperates out add the mushroom and if need add little water and keep in low flame for another 3 to 4 mins 
  • Then switch off the stove and serve the tasty mushroom masala garnished with coriander leaves.
