Spicy Idli Upma



Ingredients:

  • Idli - 10 nos
  • Green Chilli - 3 nos
  • Garlic - 8 to 10 pods
  • Onion - 2 nos ( medium size )
  • Mustard - 1 tspn
  • Urad Dal - 1-1/2 tspn
  • Curry Leaves - few nos
  • Salt - to taste
  • Oil - 2 tblspn

Method:

  • Grind the green chilli and garlic in to fine paste
  • Cut each idli in to 4 pieces, Put it in mixie  and give a pulse or two until the idli resembles a coarse powder (with the help of hand also you can do it )
  • To the powdered idli add the chilli paste along with salt and mix well 
  • Heat oil in a kadai, add mustard when it pops out add urad dal when the dal turns golden brown add onion and saute nicely
  • when onion turns pink add curry leaves and the mixed idli powder and stir nicely 
  • Keep it in a low flame for 2 to 3 mins and switch of the flame
  • Serve hot this Spicy Idli Upma  no side dish needed.
