Aloo Methi Sabji







Ingredients:
  • Potato - 5 nos
  • Kasuri methi or fresh methi leaves - 3 to 4 tblspn
  • Turmeric powder - 1/4 tspn
  • Chilli powder - 2 to 3 tspn (depends on spicyness)
  • Dhaniya powder - 3 tspn
  • Jeera - 1 tspn
  • Asafoetida powder - 2 pinch
  • Dry mango powder - 1/4 tspn (optional)
  • Salt - to taste
  • Oil - 2 tblspn
Method:
  • Wash thoroughly,peel the skin of the potato and chop it cubically
  • Heat oil in a kadai, add jeera after it pops out add asafoetida powder
  • Then add turmeric, chilli, dhania powder then add the chopped  potato and kasuri methi or fresh methi leaves mix them well , close the lid and keep in low flame
  • Stir it inbetween after the potato cooks completely switch off the stove add dry mango powder 1/4 tspn mix it well 
  • Serve the tasty aloo methi sabji as a side dish for chappathi, sambar rice 
Note:

  • The amount of kasuri methi depends on your taste
  • While stirring inbetween if the potato becomes dry springle little bit water
