Ananya's Tasty Veg Stuffed Bread Bhaji




Ingredients:
Whole Wheat Bread - 1 Medium Size Pack
Oil  - for deep frying

For Stuffing:
  • Potato - 2 nos 
  • Onion - 1 no
  • Peas - 1/4 Cup
  • Carrot - 1 small ( optional )
  • Ginger - 1 inch
  • Green chilli - 2 no
  • Mustard - 1/2 tspn
  • Cumin or Jeera - 1 tspn
  • Split Urad Dhall - 1 tspn
  • Cumin Powder - 1/2 tspn
  • Coriander Powder - 1/2 tspn
  • Garam Masala - 1/2 to 1 tspn
  • Salt - to taste
  • Coriander Leaf - Few nos for garnishing
  • Mint leaf - Few ( optional )

For Covering:
  • Basin Flour ( Kadalai Paruppu ) - 1 Cup
  • Rice Flour - 1/2 Cup
  • Turmeric Powder - 1/4 tspn
  • Chilli Powder - 1/2 to 1 tspn ( depends up on the spiceness )
  • Asafoetida Powder - a Pinch
  • Salt - to taste
  • Water - for making batter
Method:
  • Precook the potato and peas in a steamer, mash the potato and keep aside.
  • Slice the crust of the bread 
  • Heat 2 tspn of oil in a kadai, add mustard after it burst add split urad dhall, cumin seeds, chopped ginger, green chillies and onion followed by cumin powder, coriander powder, garam masala and salt
  • Saute them nicely when the raw smell goes add potato and peas
  • Mix them well and taste it, Finally add coriander leaf, mint leaf (optional ) and allow to cool
  • Take the ingredients for covering except water and mix them, then add water little by little to form batter
  • Batter should be in correct consistency not so thin ( watery ) or not so thick
  • Heat oil in a kadai, while it is in heating process take a slice of bread spread this masala well on it surface close it with another slice and press gently
  • Then With the help of knife cut that in to two half as show in the picture 
  • Dip that stuffed bread in the batter be sure that the  bread should covered thoroughly with the batter, then deep fry it in the oil
  • Take them out when it is golden brown on both side and keep on butter paper to remove excess oil
  • Serve this tasty Veg Stuffed Bread Bhaji with Tomato Sauce and enjoy
